 Design Planning 101

  1. Don't wait until the last minute. The design process works best when we have enough time to discuss your ideas and needs in detail. We recommend allowing a minimum of 2 weeks (3 weeks is ideal) for brainstorming, design creation, and the proofing process.

  2. Provide the right materials. If you will be supplying us with graphic elements such as existing logos and images, please make sure they meet our requirements. Ask one of our designers exactly what you will need. Files can be uploaded via our FTP site. (Ask for FTP uploading instructions)

  3. Provide our designers with as much information as you can. What do you want to accomplish with your display? What's your industry like? What sets you apart from your competitors? The more information you can convey to us about what you want in a design, the more quickly the design process will progress.

  4. Channel your inner artist. If you already have an idea of what you want your display to look like, feel free to send us a mock-up created in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word or whatever program you are comfortable with; you can even send us a scanned, hand-drawn image! Need ideas? Check out our Gallery, which showcases some of our previous projects we have done for our clients.
 Artwork Requirements

Make Sure:

  • Your file is in CMYK color mode (Although RGB is acceptable, we print using a four color process or higher. All RGB files will be converted in to CMYK)

  • Your file is submitted using one of the following formats: .AI, .EPS, .PDF (high-resolution or vectored), .PSD, .JPG* (high-resolution only), or .TIF*

  • All text is outlined (or all fonts used are provided).

  • Embed all images (or all linked images or files used are provided).

  • File is built at full-scale (120 DPI minimum) or half-scale (240 DPI minimum)

  • PMS (Pantone Matching System) colors are provided for any critical colors. (If Pantone colors or CMYK values can not be provided a color sample must be provided for color matching)

  • For a deep, rich black, use the following CMYK values: 60% cyan, 60% magenta, 60% yellow, 100% black

  • File quality is checked. Tip: In Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop, zoom in to 100% and look at the image quality. This will give you a good idea of what the final print will look like.
